Jazz Guitar Performance

I performed for a church service on Sunday, 7-20-15,  at The Unitarian Universalist Church in Sarasota, Fl. What made this performance unique is that I played three pieces from my solo jazz guitar repertoire. The tunes were “Satin Doll” by Billy Strayhorn and Duke Ellington, “Blue Monk” by Thelonious Monk and “A Child is Born” ……

Busy!

I’m loving every minute of being this busy! I’ve been playing for weddings, public performances, directing students and performing at my recital! Learning new music for weddings requires time and lots of attention, but the reaction of the bride and groom makes it all a pure pleasure. Recital at State College of Florida

I had the pleasure of playing my annual recital at the State College of Florida’s Neel Auditorium last night. Joining me were my friends; Bob Lunergan on drums, George Mancini on trombone, and John Miller playing bass. Lots of fun playing with these professionals for an appreciative audience!


State College of Florida Jazz Bands

I had a great time directing my SCF jazz bands the end of March! I’m so grateful to work with such a talented group of students. The appreciative audience made every minute of every academic day worth it. Congratulations to my students for an amazing performance!


The Last Three Days

I had the true pleasure of performing with Jimmy Beaumont and the Skyliners during their Florida tour. Three nights, three different locations, and an amazing opportunity to play with these pros. So happy to have had this wonderful gig!

The Last Few Days

I’ve been busy the last few days! On Thursday, I had the pleasure of playing for the Sarasota Opera Guild at a private residence on Siesta Key. Jazz Club of Sarasota Event

I enjoyed playing for the Jazz at Two event sponsored by the Jazz Club of Sarasota. Special thanks to my quartet members, George Mancini – trombone, Bob Lunergan – drums, and Mark Neuenschwander – bass, who all did a great job. It was nice to play for such an appreciative audience!


Great Time at Selby Gardens!

I’m having a great time playing for Selby Garden’s Annual Lights in Bloom! I was there on Monday the 17th, and last night, and will be there again tonight, tomorrow night and then again on the 26th and 27th. Thankfully, since it was so cold last night, they were gracious enough to let me play ……


Friday at St. Armand's

I’ll be playing on St. Armand’s Circle in Sarasota this Friday night from 6:00 – 9:00 for the annual Christmas tree lighting. I’ll be located in front of the Irish Pub on the north side of the circle and hope to see you there!


SCF Jazz Concert

I had a great time conducting the State College of Florida jazz students tonight as they performed at Neel Auditorium. Special thanks to all of them, as well as our guests: Kendall Carrier and his jazz band students from Braden River High School. Great music and a receptive audience!

University of South Florida Monday Night Jazz

I attended the USF Monday Night Jazz Series in Tampa last night with my friends Bob and Doc. The concert featured the USF Jazz Ensemble I as well as the USF Faculty Jazz Combo.
