Rain Delayed Destination Beach Wedding Siesta Key

One of the challenges with destination beach weddings is dealing with the weather. In the Sarasota area we have thunder showers that can pop up at any time. Usually they last for a short period of time and are gone. On August 7, 2016 I played a rain delayed destination beach wedding on Siesta Key where the rain delayed the wedding for about an hour. Fortunately, I did not have a second event to go to so I could stay. The planners at http://Sand Petal Weddings did an outstanding job of dealing with the problem. They had already set up a weather proof tent to deal with the rain. The venue, http://Crystal Sands Condominium also had a place where you could take cover.

Once the rains subsided, I moved into place under the tent with my equipment. For this wedding I used my Laravee acoustic steel string. I choose this guitar because I was playing pop tunes. I also used my Roland BA 330 for amplification.

This was the second wedding ceremony for this couple. Their original ceremony was years back. So you could say this was more like a vow renewal.

They selected the venue because of it’s popularity for destination beach weddings. Beautiful white sand and a picturesque sunset.

Most people say that it’s good luck to have rain on your wedding day. The couple did not seem to be too worried about the weather. They were happy to be among friends and with their family.

Once the ceremony started all eyes were on the couple.  The were just outside the front opening of the tent with the ocean as a backdrop..It was very picturesque even with the cloud cover. In fact that help to keep us cool.

I was impressed how we all worked together to make this rain delayed destination beach wedding Siesta Key special. Patience is the key. A few answered prayers helped as well.
