Wedding Performance on the World’s Top Beach

It was a pleasure to play a wedding performance and cocktail hour reception on the world’s top beach, Siesta Beach. For years, Sarasota’s Siesta Beach has been rated number one by a number of reviewers. Siesta Beach boasts white powdery sand and beautiful crystal clear gulf water.

This particular wedding occurred on November 28, 2015, a busy day for beach weddings. When I reached the location, there were two wedding set ups, so I was glad to be greeted by wedding planner extraordinaire, Jennifer Matteo, who helped with directions. We had to consult with the wedding parties to establish an order for the ceremonies. It is not unusual to see the beach decorated with canopies, especially in November when beach destination weddings are at their peak.

This was a joyous event, as people from Chicago came together in our beautiful, location to escape cold weather.

As far as the music goes, I played wedding favorites, light classical, Beatles, John Legend, and Pachelbel’s Canon in D.

After the ceremony, I moved to a different location and switched to my jazz guitar, a beautiful Gibson ES-175, for more pop and American Songbook classics.

As a wedding ceremony musician, it’s a pleasure to be a part of destination beach weddings. Our beautiful world here in Sarasota, Florida, welcomes tourists and couples looking for a tropical location to set the stage for their new lives as man and wife.
